Why You Have Crow’s Feet And How To Get Rid Of Them
To this day, I can remember exactly where I was and what I was doing the first time that I saw that I had crow’s feet at the corners of my eyes. It’s funny because I wasn’t at an age where I thought I should have them…but there they were.
Mocking me. Reminding me that I was getting a little older every day and that there was nothing I could do about it. That day, I started looking for a solution to my crow’s feet, and I found a way to ward them off for at least a little while longer.
In this article, I want to share with you why we get crow’s feet (you might be surprised!) and what we can do to turn back the hands of time on our faces for as long as we possibly can. There are some non-invasive methods that you can use to restore your face to youthfulness, and you deserve to know the best of those methods.
Crow’s Feet Appear For A Number Of Reasons, But You Can Make Them Disappear If You Find Them Early Enough!
If you guessed that you can get crow’s feet around your eyes from squinting and smiling too much, you guessed correctly. Yes. It’s true. Unfortunately, one side effect of being a happy person is wrinkles. I am not going to tell you to smile less or to become a sad person.
That would be ridiculous.
What I will recommend, however, is to try not to smile too hard (if that’s possible) so that you can be more gentle on your eyes. Crow’s feet are also caused by squinting. If you’re having trouble with your eyesight, the best thing to do is to get your eyes checked and get glasses or contacts if you need them. Wear shades when out in bright sunlight, too. This will lessen your squinting.
The next reason why we get crow’s feet has to do with the way that we sleep. If you tend to sleep on your face, you can literally create wrinkles over time. It’s better for your face to sleep on your back or to use a satin pillow that allows your skin to move fluidly on its surface.
The next cause of crow’s feet is too much sunlight. This is one that you probably could have guessed. Overexposure to the sun creates a thing called photo aging. You may have noticed that if you leave white paper out in the sun for too long it will fade and turn a slightly yellowish color and it will also become a bit brittle. This is the effect of photo aging, and it happens to everything, including your skin.
The final reason we get crow’s feet is free radicals. Free radicals are atoms that have unpaired electrons. Another way to say that is that they have an odd number of electrons and they have the tendency to do damage to other cells. Your body uses antioxidants to fight free radicals, but it’s a challenge to find a 100% solution for these kinds of things.(1) Vitamins help. So do certain types of topical aids. I will get to that in a moment.
So, What Can You Do To Get Rid Of Crow’s Feet For Good?
The first thing you need to know about crow’s feet is this: If you are going to stand a chance of getting rid of your crow’s feet, you are going to have to find them early enough.
I was lucky to have found mine when they first started forming so I could undo the damage to my skin quickly. The skin around your eyes is very, very thin, so the main solution is to thicken up the skin. You can do that naturally if you like by using an oil that increases collagen production and also tightens the skin.
One of my favorite oils is jojoba oil. Jojoba oil is the one oil that is closest to the sebum that is naturally produced by your body. It increases the production of collagen, making your skin a bit thicker and firmer over time. If you dab a bit at the corners of your eyes, you will begin to notice a difference within a week or two.(2)
It’s best to use it just after a morning shower and again at night before you go to sleep. To be really clear, if you’ve had crow’s feet for a long time, you might only see a lessening effect, but if they are relatively new, you can erase them altogether.
Crow’s Feet And Wrinkles Are A Part of Life, But You Don’t Have To Just Accept Them!
You’re not going to permanently turn back the hands of time on your skin, but you can work diligently to ensure that your skin looks as good as it possibly can for as long as you can. You NEVER want to use an exfoliant of any type around your eyes. You should protect them.
The best way to do that is by building up the skin.
In addition to jojoba oil, you can try a cream or lotion than is designed specifically to give you a much-needed cosmetic effect. Be sure to go for cosmetics once you have done everything you can, naturally because their work (generally-speaking) is more external.
