Which Make Up Mistakes Are Making You Look Older?
Did you know that the way you apply your makeup can cause you to look older? You might not even be aware that you are committing some of these makeup mishaps but the good news is that there is hope! Correct them now and knock years off your look! Are you guilty of any of these…?
Not removing your makeup
Not removing your makeup properly after wearing it all day is one of the worst things you can do in regards to your skin and making yourself look older. Leaving the impurities on your skin blocks pores and causes blemishes. Also it sticks to dead skin cells and you get a build up on the surface, which makes your skin appear dull and lifeless. Make sure you wash off your makeup every night and finish with some toner and moisturizer.
Using the wrong foundation
The wrong foundation color can age you in an instant. Wearing a darker foundation can make you look like your foundation is wearing you, the same goes for foundation that it too light. It can make your complexion look a complete mess and can add years to your face. Not highlighting the correct areas on your face to highlight your good features can also age you. Makeup, especially foundation should enhance your skin.
Going too dark with your lipstick
Going too dark with your lip color is a fatal mistake! Darker colors dominate your face and make your lips look smaller and less plump then a rich, softer color. Choose reds, oranges, pinks and neutrals to give your lips a natural plump. Finish your lip color with a layer of clear gloss to give them a youthful shimmer.
Getting your eyeliner all wrong
A huge makeup mistake many women are guilty of making is only applying eyeliner to the bottom of their eyes and neglecting the top. Doing this will drag your features down and make your eyes appear smaller and your overall appearance seem much older. Applying eyeliner on the top as well will open your eyes up and brighten your face. But be sure not to make the liner too thick, which can also be aging.
Not adding color and your brows
When you have applied all your makeup essentials don’t forget to add color to your face. Add some blusher, some eye shadow and highlighter to finish your look. A mistake that you really don’t want to be guilty of committing is not adding color to your face and filling in your brows. Not lining and defining your brows can make your face look pale, dull and not very alert. Well-defined brows can frame your face giving you definition making you appear youthful, and of course more beautiful.
Make your makeup work for you. Don’t let it dominate your face and wear you! It should highlight your best features and make you look bright, flawless and youthful. Don’t be afraid to try something new, you can always wash it off.
