How To Get Your Feet Smooth And Soft

Authored By Ben Fisher

Your feet can take some serious hammer throughout your life, and, sadly, your feet are one of the most neglected parts of your body. It’s all too easy to paint your nails with a bit of sparkle and then forget about them for the next few months, especially if they are hiding under your socks all the time! It’s time to bring your feet into the light and give them the care they deserve! Follow the tips below to achieve smooth, soft feet every single day.

Exfoliate your feet every day

Exfoliating your feet every day is one of the main things you should be doing religiously to ensure your feet stay soft, smooth and healthy. Calluses and dead skin will build up on your feet from simple, everyday wear and tear – don’t forget your feet carry the weight of your body all the time. In order to remove calluses or dry rough skin, use a foot file or pumice stone to remove dead skin from the bottom or sides of your feet every day, after a shower or bath. You will soon notice that your feet become soft and smooth.

Make your own nourishing foot soak

A foot soak is an excellent way to give your feet a nice dose of vitamins, pampering ingredients and some TLC. Of course you can purchase shop bought soaks but it’s more fun to make your own. What can you use? Fill a bowl with warm water and add in the juice of half a lemon. The acid in lemon juice helps remove dead skin and is a natural antibacterial. Also add in some coconut oil (melted) as this will help to moisturize your skin leaving it soft and hydrated. Leave your feet in this rejuvenating soak for about 15 minutes then pat dry.

Look after the nails

The nails shouldn’t be forgotten about either. As you get older your nails adapt to being inside shoes constantly and become thicker and harder. Because of this it’s important to give them a little treatment of their own. To soften your nails, after filing them add a little Vaseline, jojoba or coconut oil and gently massage in.

Invest in a good moisturizer

After you have pampered, scrubbed and treat your feet to the methods above it’s time for the finishing touch – the moisturizer. Invest in a good quality foot cream as it will contain ingredients tailored to nourishing the skin on your feet. A normal moisturizer on your feet isn’t the best idea because it may not be rich enough for the generally tougher skin on your feet. Massage the cream into your feet generously and you may want to finish by wearing some moisturizing socks.

Your feet deserve to be pampered! You spend every day of your life stood on the so try your best not to forget them. Treat them to a foot soak and keep them moisturized.
